Biography

Matt Mint Ewnen is the National Coordinator of the UNESCO Program for Literacy in Nouakchott, Mauritania. She is also the adviser to the minister in charge of literacy and traditional education in Mauritania.

In 1993 she was responsible for the conception and production of didactical materials in the State Secretariat of Literacy and Traditional Education.

Before working in the State Secretariat she was a teacher of English and French for Arabic speakers in the secondary formal school from 1986 to 1992.

Ms. Mint Ewnen is also a member of a National Network of Women's Development. Currently, she serves as the General Secretary of Mauritania's League of Women's Rights.
