Biography Anita Priyadarshini works with the Rajasthan Adult Education Association and is the director of the State Resource Centre (SRC) at Jaipur, India. She holds an M.A. in Ancient Indian History from the University of Delhi. She has a B.Ed. degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Distance Education. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in the field of girls education with an emphasis on open schooling. Formerly Ms. Priyadarshini was Project Fellow at the National Open School, New Delhi heading the Open Basic Education Project, a collaborative project between National Literacy Mission and NOS. Ms. Priyadarshini has developed a number of self-instructional materials
for primary, secondary and senior secondary levels in Social Sciences in
Hindi and English languages. She has conducted many materials development
workshops for writers in other Indian languages, too. She has been consultant
to different government and non-governmental organizations for open schooling
programs and for setting up State Open Schools. She is also on the panel
of Consultants for Distance Education set up by Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver. Her present responsibilities at the SRC include policy planning
for literacy programs, development of literacy materials, conducting training
for literacy functionaries and research for literacy programs in Rajasthan.
She has a number of publications on distance education and open schooling
and has made presentations at international and national level conferences.
