Lynda Ginsburg

Biography

Lynda Ginsburg is a Senior Researcher and Project Director at the National Center on Adult Literacy at the Graduate School of Education/University of Pennsylvania. She has extensive experience teaching mathematics to teenagers in the New York City Public Schools and to adults in adult education, community college, and workplace settings. She has also developed and taught courses and workshops for K-12 teachers and adult educators on enriching instructional practice. She received her doctorate from the Department of Urban Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a specialization in cognitive psychology and mathematics education. She is particularly interested in adults' acquisition of numeracy skills. Findings from her research have been published and presented to research audiences as well as to adult literacy practitioners.

 

Dr. Ginsburg is presently directing NCAL's participation in CADETT, an initiative funded by the Department of Defense to research the integration of emerging technologies into industry workforce training, and NCAL's subcontract activities with the OERI-sponsored Regional Technology Consortia of the North Central Regional Educational Laboratory (NCREL) and of the SouthEastern Regional Vision for Education (SERVE).
