Biography Missy Longshore is a member of the class of 1999 at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is currently working as a summer intern with the International Literacy Institute to coincide with her interests in international development, literacy, gender, and political science. Her work at ILI includes maintaining the web site, assisting in the technology laboratory, and assisting in general administrative matters. She first worked with ILI in Dakar, Sénégal, at the Africa Regional Literacy Forum in March, 1998, while she was studying at the University of Cheikh Anta Diop as a part of junior year abroad. At Smith she is very active in a number of student organizations that focus on feminist and political activism. Missy is originally from California and Washington states.
